Tipton Community School District

7th-8th grade East Central Iowa Choral Director's Association honor choir took place at Mt. Vernon High School. 170 students worked all day with guest conductor Chris Johnson and put on an evening concert for their families. It is always great to get out and make music with other schools. 🎶

Tipton first and second grade students, under the direction of Mrs. Owen, have been hard at work practicing for tonight's concert. Come see "Bugz" tonight in the High School Auditorium at 7:00pm. Elementary students have been working hard and getting recognized on our Character Strong wall! Here are some of the first students to get shout outs for creativity!

This is an extra special end to our Individual Speech season! Emily Meier will perform her Original Oratory, "Dance Isn't Just An Art", at the All State Festival at UNI on March 30th!

8th grade students took part in a powerful learning experience as they prepared for their upcoming Commemorative Projects honoring Holocaust survivors and upstanders from World War II. Using interactive technology developed by the USC Shoah Foundation, students were able to ask questions and engage in life-like conversations with recorded testimonies of survivors and upstanders. This unique experience allowed students to hear personal stories and explore history through meaningful, student-driven inquiry.

We are thrilled to announce the hire of our next Principal at Tipton Elementary School, Dawn Kruse! Dawn brings over 19 years of experience in a variety of education roles and a deep love for Tipton Schools and the community!

The Tipton School District is very important to me as a graduate, parent, community member, and I'm excited to add the additional title of Elementary Principal to that list! My husband, Andy, and I live right outside Tipton and we have three kids who attend in the district; Oakley (Junior), Kai (8th Grade) and Aeda (5th Grade).
