Bass Fest is getting started this morning! We can't wait to hear all the wonderful things these students learn today!

We would like to take time out of our day to thank a silent part of our family here at TCSD!
A huge "Thank You" to Loren Mohr and his team of outstanding custodians. Our buildings would not operate without you all.
Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day!

For the last couple weeks first graders have been learning about communities and the people who live and work in a community. To celebrate the end of the unit they had Career Day where students dressed up as the career they want when they grow up!

#WelcomeWednesday Mr. Oronzio joined our district as a High School Special Education Teacher and is also helping coach 8th grade football this fall. Currently in DeWitt, Iowa he is from Brookhaven, Pennsylvania and brings 15 years of teaching experience. We are excited to have him working to better our students. Welcome to Tipton!

Tomorrow (10/2) Tipton will host 8 schools for Bass Fest held in the auditorium. This event is a little different from other honor choirs students may have been a part of in the past because this event focuses on the learning of music and creating music together instead of a concert. Students will work together with guest clinician Luigi Enriquez from Iowa City West High School and end the day with making some audio recordings of the work accomplished that day.

First graders have been reading stories about communities and different services within a community. Last week they took a community walk to look for important things within our community.

Jen Johnson Memorial Volleyball game raised $520 to go towards the scholarship fund that is set up in Jen's honor. The scholarship goes to a Tipton student who is going into a math field or committed to play a sport collegiately. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Mr. Borseth continues on his reading tour, reading "The Book With No Pictures" to Ms. Gathman's pre-kindergarten class. Her students really enjoyed the book and the guest reader.

Friday night at the Homecoming football game we were lucky enough to have 25 past Tigers come join our Marching band for Tipton Alumni Band night! It is so awesome to see past and present Tipton students working together, thank you all for coming!

Last week was jam packed with Homecoming activities, each one took lots of planning, coordination and effort from students and staff. We want to thank ALL of our staff who helped the week go smoothly, and some special shout outs to people who went the extra mile. Thank you!

Congratulations to the third grade for winning the popsicle prize for most participation during Homecoming week. They had 96% participation! Way to go third graders!

We will hold a Veterans Day Program at Tipton Middle School Gym on Monday, November 11th at 9:30am. This is open to the public and we welcome all community members to join us.

You can find Mayor Tammi Goerdt in the concessions stand at the football game tonight. The City of Tipton also gifted free popcorn for fans! Come out and support!

The Traveling Career Tiger learned about being a Buyer at John Deere this week and saw a lot of cool equipment that is built at John Deere!
There's still time to sign up if you would like to teach the students at TES about your career! https://forms.gle/HKGW1SUu3uaFN6Z49
