2nd grade students had a special visitor this week - MISTER Owen! Students have been learning new music vocabulary almost every day and this time the word was 'glissando' (to slide from note to note). They learned some songs that featured a trombone since that is a perfect instrument to learn about glissandos. It's always more fun when you can see and hear an instrument in person. Thank you Mr. Owen for stopping by! 🎶
Take a look inside some of our Middle School classes! Students are hard at work this time of year, check out the new section of our website highlighting some of their day, including these 6th graders reading or 7th grade finishing their eclipse ball unit in PE. https://www.tipton.k12.ia.us/o/tcsd/page/middle-school-1

River Valley Conference honor choir was held today at West Liberty High School. 7th-12th grade choir students across the conference came together to sing. They worked with guest conductors Sandy Miller & Dr. Jeremy Manternach and put on an evening concert for their families. A little down time for lunch at the park was a perk of attending. It was another great day of music making! 🎶

Bass Fest was held at Tipton High School today. This event is a little different from other honor choirs students may have been a part of in the past because this event focuses on the learning of music and creating music together instead of a concert. Students met during the school day with students from other schools, worked on music with guest clinician Jason Heitland from Clear Lake High School, and ended the day with making some audio recordings of the work they accomplished. Lunch was also a perk of attending this fun event! 🎶
Welcome Wednesday! Mr. Ban has joined Tipton Middle School this year as a 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies teacher, as well as coaching. Mr. Ban is in his first year of teacher as a St. Ambrose graduate. Welcome to Tipton Mr. Ban, we are so happy you're here!
