Public Facility Use 1/20/21


Reservations for February should be submitted by email to or dropped off at the district office between 8 a.m. and noon on January 20, 2021 for Category A groups (see requirements below) and between 8 a.m. and Noon on January 21, 2021 for Category C groups. Any requests submitted before their groups allowed time and date will not be accepted.  

Requests for March and April may be submitted on the 22nd day of the month prior for Category A groups and the 23rd for Category C groups.  This is subject to change.


It is the requester's responsibility to review the RVC web calendar for open dates and times. Tipton staff members are not able to find open dates/times for you. To aid in the staggering of groups the school may need to start your practice time 15 minutes earlier or later than requested. Gyms are not available before 5:30 pm on weekdays and Noon on Sunday.


Tipton School facilities are currently open to teams or clubs that are made up of only Tipton students. All AAU or travel teams made up of students from other communities will not be allowed to use Tipton facilities at this time. 

Temporary details for facilities use (may be adjusted without notice):

  • The 1952 Gym, 1925 Gym, and wrestling room are the only indoor facilities that are reopened at this time.

  • Tipton middle school and high school sponsored teams will have priority

  • Teams will be limited to one 90 minute practice time per week.

  • Teams will need to provide their own balls and other equipment.

  • Teams will be responsible for sanitizing any surfaces that need to be sanitized.  Teams will need to provide their own sanitizing equipment.

  • Practice times will be staggered to reduce congestion in gyms and parking areas.

  • Coaches should keep accurate attendance records at all practices to be used for contact tracing, if necessary.

  • Players/coaches not participating on the court or mat will be required to wear masks.

  • At this time, games and tournaments are not allowed.

  • Parents attending practices/scrimmages in the gym will be required to wear masks at all times and practice social distancing as much as possible.

  • Parents attending practices/scrimmages will sign in when entering the gym, to assist in contact tracing, if necessary.

  • City Rec will provide a supervisor to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed.

We’re trying to keep our facilities as safe as possible for all Tipton students, staff, and community. Failure to comply with these expectations may result in further restrictions. 


To qualify as a Category A for free use of the gym all of the following items must be included:

  •  A copy of the flyer that will be sent home with each student. The cost of the copies is your responsibility. Please work with Mrs. Hill and or Mr. Smock in regards to the flyers being sent home. As the announcements are not sent to everyone the flyer is required to be sent home. A copy of this flyer will also be kept on hand so that it may be posted and/or handed out to any new students moving in to the district.

  • A Certificate of Liability Insurance must be on file with the school. Most insurance agents will know what the school requires. Many choose to use their homeowner's policy. This is something you will wish to discuss with your agent. The Certificate may be faxed to the school at 563-886-2341.

  • A letter or email from the appropriate varsity coach stating that you are working with them regarding knowledge of skills.


Failure to include all of the following items will result in your group being classified as a Category C and result in a $20 per hour rental fee charge. Bills will be sent out after December 10 for November charges.
