Each public and accredited non-public school district in Iowa is required to have a School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) comprised of representatives of the fabric of the community.
Membership:
The School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) is a district appointed committee that is representative of the Tipton Community School District and community. SIAC membership is made up of community members, staff, administration, and students of the Tipton Community.
Purpose:
The purpose of the SIAC Committee is to provide input to the board of education regarding:
· Major educational needs
· Long-range and annual improvement goals
· Progress toward meeting district goals
· Stability of the district in regards to finance and education.
Responsibilities:
The SIAC committee will meet at least annually to review district data and develop recommendations for the board of education. In addition, individual SIAC committee members will be available to meet with the Department of Education Comprehensive Site Visit Team.
