The Tipton Community School districts mission for a strong
peer mentoring program is to positively impact the lives of young people by providing support and learning opportunities that promote character development and life-enhancing experiences.
The school has a strong philosophy that by providing youth with consistent, caring mentors, they will learn life skills and develop positive relationships through exposure to opportunities with their mentors. The
Tipton Mentoring program helps to empower youth in our community to make positive life choices that will enable them to maximize their potential. The mentoring program uses student volunteers to commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person for a period of at least one year. By becoming part of the social network of students and community members who care about the youth, the mentor program can help youth develop and reach positive academic, career and personal goals.
